1657 King James Bible (James Flesher)

James Flesher was a printer in London around 1650, following in the trade of his father, Miles Flesher. The family was involved in printing and bookselling, with James's son Miles II also being a bookseller. James Flesher worked and lived in Little Britain, London. Christian faith, at this time was divided between Latin Christendom (Western Europe) predominantly Catholic and Protestant denominations, and Eastern Christendom centered around Byzantium/Constantinople and the Orthodox Church. With religious diversity and conflict following the Reformation, Europe remained divided between Catholic and Protestant denominations, often resulting in conflicts, one such was the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648): The Peace of Westphalia, signed in 1648, brought an end to this devastating war, which involved both religious and political motivations.
