Robert Barker was the King's Printer, succeeding his father Christopher Barker. He is Famously known for printing the first edition of the King James Bible in 1611. 1642 falls within the period when Robert Barker was working as the King's Printer, though he was facing financial difficulties and was in and out of debtors' prison. 1642 King James New Testament only Bible is rare, Because New Testament Bibles were often given to slaves, omitting the Old Testament to prevent rebellion. Therefore less of these Bibles were printed as there was less of a demand for them, compared to complete OT & NT Bibles.
