The Port style is very similar to the Agen style, although they are not immediately similar in appearance. They also exhibit a noticeable Celtic influence and were used from roughly 100 BCE–100 CE. This striking horned helmet, known within the collection as “The Second,” is from the martial traditions of ancient Europe. Its overall structure recalls Roman helmet forms associated with Celtic culture and later legendary interpretations of ancient warriors.
